An even better deal is the 7870. Performs as well as factory-overclocked 7970's after overclocking to the limits.

How is this possable, and why did it take till now to figure it out, and why doesn't 15% less stream processors hurt the 7950 more, clock for clock?

All I know is when the 670 is released and the prices on 7950's come down even more - that's one heck of a deal.
