2500k vs 3570k

Ill be near a microcenter next week.

I havent had much time to read the reviews, most I got was that IB runs a little hotter than SB, and might not OC as hig.

That being said max oc is not everything, because clock for clock makes a difference.

Just looking for members experiances with the processors.

Id be upgrading from a i5-750. and have an H70

Really it simply depends on how much you want to push it.

In general IB is seeing about a 5-10% performance increase at stock speeds. Pushing them up to about 4.5ghz seems reasonable, but going much past that will require some additional work and cooling. So you won't see the crazy high overclocks that could be obtained with SandyBridge, but they should still overclock at a reasonable level.

2500K. $20 cheaper and you know you will have no issues hitting 4.7+ or heat.

I saw the 4ghz club submission. 1.25v @ 4ghz is real nice.

Yea... i had everything on "auto" previously and it gave me 1.32v @ 4.0ghz, so after doing some digging around, i changed the vcore manually from 1.22v(stock) to 1.25v and ran p95 for 8hrs straight, everything went great w/o a hitch.

Hey Prud... MC always has those great deals

SB are god sent CPUs lol. What's your primary use for it? I LOVE my 2600K for handling my image batch processing using Lightroom and games well, too.

I probably just going to use it for gaming. To be honest my 750 is just fine, I just feel like building something else to overclock.

I'd be shocked if you didn't hit 4.5, but past that it will get real hot real fast.
