I think I'm losing a combined 200-300K per day with my two 4Ps. So, yes.

I've totally lost BA ability... I miss the deadline by a day exactly.

i even tried the *nix core hack to set 12cores, but it still sees all 24 threads!S So i cant even cheat my way back into 6xxx BA units like intel hex cpus can get.

Its a toss up... drop $2000 on a 2/4p deca/octo or $600 on a sr2 and case. I need a case, plus probably need better coolers than my intel st100c's

With the current point system, you should be able to turn out 300K on the 8101s with a 4p with 12-16 cores and up to 500K with the others. I don't think you can get anywhere close to that with the 2p Xeon. I'd buy a SR2 before I'd buy 2p Opteron.

I do know I can complete a 8101 with a 2p 8 core Opteron.

BTW, if you take your time, you should be able to pickup the 12 core opterons for $350 or less but it will take a while or go with 8 cores for about $125 each. The major cost there is the MB.

Yha, I've seen them on ebay for cheap. I'd only 2p a 4p board till i got richer

Having everything for an sr2 setup but a case it'll fit in makes it the cheapest, though moneys only a hold up in my head, not the bank... I'm a cheap skate. Which is my hold up... plus my 650d and asus board are relatively new!
