beowulf cluster
i would look into it, however i dont have anywhere near enough cash for soemthing like this i an thought some one may have already tryed it |

I doubt it... that may have been good before cheap AMD Opterons were around. You can build a 64 core system for under $2000 from what I understand.

F@H doesn't scale across clusters, at least not yet. It only runs in parallel on SMP machines, which in a a quad socket machine can be extremely powerful. You could try something with parallel virtual machine, but that would probably be pretty painful.

well i may have had a few machine coming to me if u could make use of them. running a big adv would have been the only reason to take them on.

OY!!! And I just threw away a LOT of pentium 4 systems
How have I not heard of the Beowulf cluster before. Very keen to build one now... :<http://www.calvin.edu/~adams/research/microwulf/ It looks so appealing

26gflops that less the phenom II @4ghz, thats only about as much as a stock 4 core these days

my dual socket workstation pushes 400 Gflops. I'm not sure how much they cost, as the Dual socket SB-E5 boxes are only just coming for sale.
