XFX Radeon 6870 too loud?
It has good temps, but anything will be cool with that duty cycle. So I'm thinking about returning it and purchasing the 2 fan setup (link) because I've read it can be quieter. Anyone have any ideas or experience with these? Or any other modestly priced 6870s with quieter cooling? I also read about the Black Edition model that was factory overclocked, but can't find it for sale anywhere. Thanks much. |

The dual fan setup should be quieter. The heatsink is larger and ther will be more airflow pushed at lesser fan speeds. I have a 6950 (695X-CNFC) non-reference, very similar to what you bought (but I have a crappier heatsink internally compared to you), and it is noisy and hot.
