I can't install win2k pro / win xp pro / win xp pro w/ sp1 Everytime I try It boots off the cd just fine... the gets to the point after it finishes loading its drivers into ram it says "Setup Starting Windows Setup" and after 5 seconds the kyb led lights flash, the hdd flashes, the cdrom flashes... and then nothing... I tried playing around w/ various bios settings and found out the following things, it will ALWAYS reproduce this "situation" however, a couple of times... the hang is follow by a reboot... I also had the screen turn red and a couple of times blue... I tried using a different video card no luck... I currently am using 2 x PC3500 256 OCZ Ram and I have tried installing w/ both ram in, with the ram seperate... and I even went out and bought a 256 stick or pc2700 and ran that by its self and still no go... I also can't flash my bios... Im stuck at 12/30/02... even w/ the bios file on the floppy it fails to find it... This really stinks I have been working on this for about 6 hours now I was able to install win98 but after install nforce drivers and and gf2fts drivers... I was crapped out... I now have my ocz ram back in there and am starting at a frozen screen. I have tried **** near everything at his point... disabling acpi... whatever... I really want to flash my bios... but the mobo doesn't play well with my floppy drive. Somebody PLEASE HELP ME! Thanks alot, Rich |

I had a simular problem with win XP pro. I thought it was the VC untill I tried another and it didn't help, then i tried different ram, different Harddrive, but nothing would even let me install it. Tried another copy of XP pro, and nothing. Then i tried Win 98 se and it worked fine. Finally I just sent the board back and got another one with the updated bios (no charge) and everything worked just right with Win XP Pro
![]() Mine was an Abit, but maybe you are dealing with something simular. Just a thought. |
