slk-800 with a diff fan.
everyone's gonna say tornado if you don't mind noise, I personally can't stand the sound. Then they're gonna say SmartFanII. Eh, depends on how much noise you can handle really. 30db is about as quiet as you're gonna get, 40 is very noticeable, and 50 is like running a blow dryer on medium (tornado).

The SK-7 isn't much worse than the SLK-800, and it's like 20 bucks cheaper. I have a SFII and it's 48db, it's really not that loud once your fan controller breaks and you have to run it on high all the time *ahem* I mean once you get used to it...

Please note that you can always get a fan speed adjuster or a rheobus to control the speed of that tornado. Other than that yeah SLK800 + 92mm Tornado is the schitt!!

hehehe thx all well I'll see what this strange YS-Fan will do first ... I dunno why the SLK comes with a fan ... I know normally without one but you know germany don't you? we're all a bit stupid here ^^

hey ri3eboi you also seem to have a YS-tech fan on your SLK (see it in your system stuff) you have good experiences with those?!

Why would anybody call the SK-7 a POS? I own one, AWESOME heatsink... unless you want like 1-3*C differance for the 20 bux in differance.

look at my signature, tell temps... right now, in a 71*F enviroment, im getting 90*F with my duron at 1.76V with my tornado all the way down (like prolly 30 CFM) which is about 32*C. on hi, i can get about 29-30*C temps. Why spend a ton more money on something thats only 1-3* less?

Linx: Whats your problem with the SK-7? Its rated only one spot below the 800 at overclockers.com rating scale. It has never let me down.

make ur temps in celcius, i live in US too but I only know C cause that's what everyone uses when they talk about cpu temps.. at stock voltage i get right around 30C with my sk-7, its a great heatsink for ur money, but 800 is better if u wanna spend that much money on a heatsink

I'm running an SLK800 on my Tbred XP2100@2250 and my temps run at 34-35 C while folding. I'm using a 68cfm Delta powered through a TT H-M-L switch, which is a 3 speed switch that can handle the power of a Delta 80mm or Tornado 80mm. I'm running it on the medium speed and it's hardly even noticable.

SK-7 is a very good heatsink. Only outdone by slk-800 by a couple degrees C.

I don't think the extra 20 bucks is really worth it on the SLK-800, unless you really need it.
