UPS just delivered 3 9500np's at my door

UPS just dropped off 3 9500np's that I order from allstarshop and I just finished testing all 3 cards

Card #1 - PASSED - 3.3ns & Gold HSF
Ran nature test and passed with 393/310 (one fractal)
Froze at 396 core
CHERRY CARD!!

Card #2 - FAILED - 3.0ns & Gold HSF

Card #3 - PASSED - 3.3ns & Gold HSF
Ran nature test and passed with 398/315 (some fractal)
Froze at 400 core
CHERRY CARD!!!

I can't believe I got 2 cards that could do over 390 on the core!

This is obviously all stock cooling.

The third card is just a tad bit better than card #1 so I just ran a quick preliminary 3DMark '01 benchmark. I just kept my system at safe settings (210*11.5 @ 1.7v (2400MHZ with xp1700+ in 8RDA+ mobo). I scored 18.1k. Then I ran '03 and scored 5.9k. I used cat 3.4 drivers from Wizzard's site.

I'll be throwing on my pelt and vmodding it the next few days.

I'll RMA Card #2 and pay restocking fee.

Looks like I'll keep card #3 and SELL card #1. I need to sell it for about $200 to recover the restocking fee on Card #2. If anyone is interested in it, PM me. You're not going to find many cards going over 390 core @ stock voltage/cooling. For an extra $30, I will vmod the card to your liking if you plan to cool it with a TEC.

Believe me, I know about vmodding these cards, just look at my sig. (7th fastest in '03 among all 9500/9700 series at futuremark). I think I'll beat those scores with this newer card.

I talked to some others who had been getting these cards from there and it seemed that lately there were more failures than successes. Of those that did get them, no one was posting cores as high as I got on these.

BMORIN... when you mentioned #2 failed... HOW exactly did it fail? It didn't softmod at all or what?

What I mean by "failed" is that whenever I stuck that card in the machine and booted it up with the modded drivers, I got checkerboarding when I ran 3dMark test. In fact, before the test, my desktop looked a little choppy so I knew it even before I ran the test.

Great card Empty. I had 2 consecutive softmod FAILURES from Newegg over the course of the last couple weeks. That's why I went with Allstarshop. It really is a crapshoot. I feel like I got lucky to get 2/3, and even luckier to get 390+ on both cores.
