is this heat normal for the Ati?

Hi,guy's

is it normal for a ati version of the pro,to get hot to the touch(the back of the card)without even playin games or anything it gets pretty hot.If i make it think,i can only hold my finger on it for like 7-10 sec.is this normal.

That's pretty normal. All the 9XXX series cards run very hot.

That little metal plate near the back?
That thing gets pretty dang hot, I guess thats where the power is going through...or something.

I'm thinking about getting little heatsinks to put all over the card.

Oh ok,cool now i feel better...Whew

I deffinately like this card,going from my old 440mx and 7000 3dmark01 to 18000,now thats what i call a change.

Remove the shim on your Radeon and apply AS3, and that should help out temps.

by shim,do you mean the silver thing around the outside?I just removed the hsf and applied as3 abd it runs alittle cooler.
