Hi guys,

Just got a Sapphire Radeon 9600XT Atlantis Fireblade edition the other day. Have only installed it with standard drivers that came with the card (Catalyst 3.10 I think!).

Fireblade ed. is supposed to be 532 Core x 650 Mem. Riva Tuner shows it as 526.5 Core x 648 Mem (but only if I click default - otherwise settings revert back to 499/648). Power strip shows 499/324 so essentially the same). Not sure about all this, but hoping installing the new drivers will make ammends.

Anyway:

3D Mark 2001 Score (performance settings in ATI control panel):

12018

Will post again when I've tinkered about a bit.

Well you see the 9500 9700 pro and the 9800 pro and xt all have 8 pipelines and the 9600 pro/xt only has 4 pipelines. belive me if the 9600 pro/xt had 6 pipelines it would woop a 9800 not even mentioning 8 pipelines.
thats a load of crap... the 9600 still has a 128bit mem interface vs the 9800s 256.... so the clock speed dosnet mean crap....
wana compare it to something take a look at my 9500pro..... it spanks most of the cards people have been posting on this thread and my proc and fsb suck...

Can you post a link, please? And why aren't you getting the memory higher?

EDIT: AMD junkie, the 9500 can be flashed to a 9700 so...it's not really a fair fight

Well, it's true that the 9600 series cards only have 4 pipes, but the high clock frequencies make up for it, at least with the XT.
