Try iometer; you can get it at www.iometer.org. The problem with iometer is that it is not as easy to use as ATTO, hence the wider use of ATTO. You will need a config file for iometer (one of the hurdles to using it). I'm going to try to put together a simple config file (.icf) and a setup as a starting point for new users of iometer soon. |

Ok i need input.. i hooked up my raid0 raptors yesterday. However i can not see any improvements from my previous 1 ata 7200 drive. i used sisoftware / file system bench. here are results.
Drive index = 79Mb/sec Buffered read = 82 Sequential read = 99 Random read = 45 Buff write = 98 Seq. write = 99 random write = 67 avg access time 12 ms Raid0 striped with 2 raptors. 16kb chunks. On Gigabyte ga-7n400 pro2, ddr333 512, xp2600 Tb do these look ok for when i have done? to me looks unsatisfying but i dont know much about benchmarking. what are some of the compared speeds that you have? and what other benchmarks can i do and compare to mine?? please help. |

i have 2 wd 120gb in raid 0 and i benches much higher than the seagate guy in this post. i use 128kb for stripe and got 78mb/s index in sissandra. and also my score is just a liltle lower than the raptor in raid 0 for the atto test. i'll post up a pic soon. i do feel 2x faster, games load in seconds.

I use now ICH5R / Rair0 / stripe 32Mb / Fat32 diwided under 8GB parts except Video i:\ 32GBb in the attach pictures (because Fat32 is faster that way). Here are the results and as you see the HD Tach graphic is still rough: Last edited by tsbmw : 03-13-2004 at 05:14 AM. |

What security? I haven't notice anything. I use ZoneAlarm, Antivir and test in there:
http://scan.sygatetech.com/quickscan.html If you need biger files than 24GB then the Fat32 is not working ok. |

What is this noise people keep talking about?? I can barely hear my tv over the 2 tornados in my case, much less a little noise from a couple of raptors
