If you have a 940B or 930BF 1. Put the Brightness setting to 100. 2. Put your ear behind the monitor near the grille at the top portion and listen. 3. Reduce the Brightness setting to 30. 4. Listen again carefully. 5. Report here if you hear any whine, buzz, noise, whistle etc. PS. IMO they are making the monitors too bright for ergonomic use. They are making the bright for marketing purposes only

Hello Paapa,
I have a great problem to make a decision 1.- Viewsonic VX924, 6ms response time and, apparently, better colors than Samsung 930BF and 940B, but contrast ratio 550:1 less than samsung's 700:1 2.- Samsung 940B, very well balanced in colors, 8ms response time and 300nits, greater than VX924 and 930BF 270nits. 3.- Samsung 930BF, fastest 4ms response time but, apparently, inferior color quality. As I'm interested in gaming, I think that best choice is Samsung 930BF but I am not totally sure. What do you think? Thanks but your opinion and anyone that want to comment. |

I have just purchased a Samsung 930BF and have noticed the same problem.
When the brightness is at 100% there is no noise. If I lower it to 30% the noise is quite noticable. The monitor is very clear and sharp, but I have noticed the colours seem to be very saturated (rich) eg. Red is too red etc. I notice it especially when I am looking at photos with anything red in it!!I have tried to alter it using Magic Tune but have no joy. I am wondering whether to exchange it for something else..Has anybody got any suggestions? Eg something with 4ms response time which attracted me to this model.

i have the 930 connect via DVI, no problems here, but the brightness & contract both back to 65%, works perfectly. You can also thry the color/gamma correction in your videodriver, the NVIDIA forceware driver even allows to access the monitors hardware menus through the driver (now that's cool!)
