Right, there's really just the Aopen. I was gonna jump on that Yonah ES deal that FCG had going on XS. But after I read about the Aopen board I was turned off. The board just didn't wow me in any ways.

Nah, going to wait till something decent or better comes along.

I don't mind getting an board that will need vmods done to it.

But, I would like to try an single X1900xtx or an 7900gtx with this Yonah soon.

asus's i945 board doesnt look too promising if you ask me...proprietary hsf mount and only 2 dimm slots (if i'm thinking of the right one). theres also a gigabyte one that uses soc478 mounts IIRC

i woudln't call it 'smokes' but the performance is definitely noteworthy.
but seriously, all but maybe 1 of those tests show less than a 1% difference. and that really doesn't constituite 'smoked'

i want a new core duo laptop when they're cheaper

bravotsx... did you read the part "on air" and "with vapochill" ?

Nice. I literally can't wait for conroe, I was about to buy a p-m 760 with a ct-479 when I saw the first yonah benchmarks and the announcement of conroe.

ooh i didn't register that part haha it's too early =P
thanks for the correction;; i guess the fx60 coudln't get up to those clocks w/o a vapochill while the core duo sits fine on air.

now i want to see some core duo on vapochill action.

Yeah its the same thing over like with the old Dothans...The chip performs amazingly but the motherboards always a let down...Even if u did get a Socket 479 for the Dothan AGP is slowly dying...

If they did how ever bring out a good motherboard..who would buy the desktop chips

yonah + DI will be alot of fun.
For now I think i am going to order an
Asus N4L-VM with pci-E & see what mods need to be done to the board.
Most Asus boards when vmodded run superbly.

Here is pic of the Asus board for Yonah's.
