i'm not sure if i want to order NST lightweight pulleys with the springs, or if i want to order the perrin adjustable short throw shifter. here's what i need to decide on; tanabe df210 + perrin short throw or tanabe df210 + nst lightweight pulleys or perrin short throw + nst lightweight pulleys. it's a hard decision, because the lightweight pulleys do up to 10whp and cut .2-.5 seconds off the 1/4. then again, the car sits/looks soooo much better with the lowering springs. the stock stick in the tC has massively long throws, and it really needs a short throw too. so i'm still kind of deciding. |

why are you lowering it more in the rear than the front???
looking to get some reverse rake on? Additional Comment: pulleys are usually snake oil and if the seller says they're good for 10hp expect to actually see about 2 or 3hp In fact on 1.8Ts lightweight pulleys are actually good for a consistant 2hp LOSS at peak... Well within correction for a dyno run so really the difference is negligable... IMO you should get the short throw and skip the pulleys all together.. and yes, stock, it sits half an inch higher in the rear, the springs will even that out. Last edited by K31TH3R : 06-25-2007 at 07:19 PM. |

invidia downpipe is back on
After 2 hours... my downpipe is back on.
this is the first time it's been on my headers, and i gotta say, it sounds gooooooood. ok just kidding, it still sounds like a japanese zero, but i'm going to a race track on sunday for time trials and i should have some pictures of that ugly fingerprints on my downpipe ftw, but oh well, not like you ever see it anyway. edit: this is an s-pipe btw, not a downpipe. don't have a turbo, yet

Instead of pulleys you should do the Fidanza flywheel. Roughly the same gains, prolly more HP from the flywheel though as it is more of a weight reduction than the pulley(s). Flywheel will also make the car easier to drive day in and day out. It helps to reduce the throttle lag feeling. Also, do you have rasp now with your headers? Read about countless people encoutering rasp when adding headers to the tC. Additional Comment: most are... but the NST pulley he want's DOESN'T have a rubber grommet. Unless they've changed their design in the last 2 years, there is nothing to dampen the vibrations. Last edited by DriveEuro : 07-10-2007 at 09:01 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

why not just replace all the other pullies and leave the main one (with the grommet) in place? you can usually find kits that have the same size pullies, but are lighter... with the flywheel you will "feel" more performance from the fly, since it is much lighter and directly affects the "feel" of your ride |

lookin good man.
Can't really say i'd reccomend a turbo on a FWD car if it would net like you say close to 400whp. I used to have a 1.8T jetta like 5 years ago running 21psi with ultra wide summer compound tires and other goodies, and never had traction till about 3rd gear. on the other hand having 352 torque at the wheels with my current car has no problem with traction except in the rain. |

i've changd my plans around a little bit, i went with the megan short throw as well, i just got it installed today and i'm LOVING it. i'm ordering the NST cable link bushings, supposed to eliminated the play in the shifter once you're in gear. i've heard a lot of good things about the fidanza too, but a flywheel install is some rough work! i changed my mind about the NST pulleys, and i'm just going with a ZPI crank pulley, supposedly it's a much better decision. as far as rasp goes, it's non-existant unless you're flooring it (at least with my setup, Injen CAI > megan racing headers > invidia s-pipe > trd axle back) and then i only have rasp until the cars warmed up, once all the pipes are hot it sounds pretty ****ed good, low and bellowy. here's a pic of the short throw after the install today, about 2 hours and some minor frustrations later: |

Or even better, put that on your PC tower. Then e-mail nVidia and be like "LOL1!! TYPO GIMME A FREE 8800GTX".
