The GA-P35-DQ6 is plenty stable and a great overclocker, probably the best. Asus PK5 Deluxe/Wifi is pretty good.
Unfortunately, for SLi, you have to go with a Nvidia 680i chipset. |

i really want a stable mobo, that will yield the best OC on air or water with a Q6600. |

GA-P35-DQ6. One high end Nvidia card will be fine for CAD and all that.

ive done some research on the p35 chipset, and i like it alot, seems to be a good overclocker. so far, it looks as though that gigabyte dq6 board is pwning everything. think this will be my choice. looks like newegg is cheaper than directron too, which is surprising. i was reading that this board is ddr3 capable, but i dont know how thats possible if its a different socket?!

I had the striker and it sucked with a quad core, i now run an EVGA 680i board, it rocks , running @ 3.6 stable on water, I dont know how the gigabyte board is, i sure dont believe it OWNS everything else tho. If it does than post some links to benchies to prove that please. Just so i can be informed.

Asus P5K Deluxe <-- currently the best. The Gigabyte is a good overclocker and does seem to be able to get the highest FSB out of the 680i boards. The Asus board still craps on it though in terms of overclockability.

There are 2 versions of that Gigabyte board. the P35 and the P35T. P35T has support for DDR3 only and the P35 supports DDR2 only.

Wheres a review of the Gigabyte smoking the Asus ? It seems all of the P35 boards will do around 550FSB which is WAY more than enough to overclock with.
The Asus board has more features, looks nicer, has a better layout, overclocks like a dream. Last edited by Scubar : 07-09-2007 at 03:45 PM. |

Where can I buy what you are smoking? It doesn't have a better layout, doesn't overclock better and doesn't have any extra features. The Gigabyte northbridge cooler is DEAD sexy and more efficient. Regardless, looks are strictly opinion and shouldn't have any bearing on purchase decision.
