e8400 4ghz

i oced my e8400 to 4ghz today thought i post the bennys



8800gt 700/1728/2052



it hit 63c during the tests

whats the max temp on these CPU's?

Nice work and decent vcore! Is it stable? Max temp is 72c, as stated on the intel spec sheet. I don't like to go over 60 for 24/7, but that's just me.

It was stable as far as i can tell, but im not going to leave it there, after 30minutes of prime95 it was 65c. Ill try it again after the artic silver sets.
I think my biggest problem is the placement of fans and the fact that my ram interferes with the CPU fan airflow. Im also am concerned with the contact of the cpu cooler to the cpu, after that half hour the heatsink was only moderate to touch.

What HSF are you using? Depending on where you touch it, it will generally only be "warm."

yea i need to arrange my heatsink i have a 120mm on top of my intel heatsink and the air blows in but at 2.4ghz my e2160 runs at 40c so its not bad i guess

i actually had vcore set to auto on my mb, Im at 4ghz right now full load 57c and 1.272v according to cpuz

You should set it manually. Then you can work on getting it as low as possible, but still stable.

yea i forgot it was on auto, i set it manually this time, it was way more voltage than it needed its stable right now so...
