Thermaltake demos chiller concept case @ CeBit

Hexus reports on an unusual prototype case from Thermaltake - at least for a potentially manufactured product. Hopefully this breaks out beyond the design phase...
Thermaltake's second backroom-surprise on its sprawling stand was a concept that landed late yesterday. The company was unsure whether to even show it at CeBIT 2008 but we're glad that it did.

It's a refrigerated system that's still very much at the concept stage. But Thermaltake hopes to use its research to push niche solutions out into the mass market.

Looks cool :-)

That looks really cool
The concept of using a refrigerated system like the big thingy in my house sounds fun as I`ve always dreamt of putting my pc in there to begin with. But condensation kept me from trying
Hope to see something like this as maybe an alternative to the water coolers we see now maybe it wont even be expensive

It does not make sense. How do they solve the condensation problem?? I don't want my CPU/Mobo covered with thin layer of water droplets.

The condensation issue is going to be interesting. If they mass produce it will they include insulation, dielectric grease, etc and tell people that once they put it on their cpu/mobo its not under warranty anymore?

Looks like fun to me....i want one now LOL

Edit:

Not sure what to do bout the moisutre 'cept maybe insulate the tubing. Other possibility is put the txv inside the cooler block somehow.

The cynic in me gives it about a 1 in 4 chance, but then again I never expected to see a gallium CPU cooler! nanoCoolers made it happen and were on the verge of mass-producing the Sapphire liquid metal GPU cooler, before their company changed direction. Also take a look at watercooling, which has become so common you can even buy individual components at major retailers. So you never know...

Ahhh, good old ThermalTake.

Once again, they innovate and push forward ahead of any other company. Except everyone will wait for someone else to do it slightly better, buy that one, and say the TT one sucks.

Poor ThermalTake.

EOCF members drewmeister/sneil/extremecorvette(sry i can,t remember most of ya,s offhand) and the other eocf phasechange gurus should email TT with moneymaking(for themselves of course) ideas and proposals.

i like the fact that TT seems open to hardcore cooling scenerios with their R+D dept. GO TT!!!
