How does not having a cookie stored locally keep them from collecting information on you?

Wouldn't increase security at all...
This feature is geared toward situations where say, a friend comes over, and he wants to check his email. He could log into gmail without leaving his own login cookies behind, and without wiping your autologin cookies. This feature was supposed to be introduced with FF3, but got shunted back because it involves reworked a lot of code. Looks like IE may get it first then. May get it first. Probably not, given the way M$ are. Wish they'd listen to what their users want, rather then just playing catch up & copy with FF/Opera all the time.... |
